Kelly and Dan thanks so much for the updates! The blog is definitely informative for the outside world and I imagine it's somewhat cathartic for you (plus it keeps the prayers and thoughts fresh!). Katy - Good question! Will is hooked up to EEG leads, which means he has 24 wires glued to his head, using a super strong glue. It looks just like the picture in my first post (And So it Began...), only that was just a 23 minute EEG. This time, because they have to leave the wires on for a few days, they wrapped his head up in gauze so that he can't pull them off. He actually isn't all that bothered by it, but is more annoyed by the fact that the whole thing is tied to a 10 foot cord that is attached to the wall and he can't really walk around very much. Thanks for the prayers!
Thank you for the very awesome and vivid descriptions... the 10-foot cord reminds me of this old SNL skit: http://www.hulu.com/watch/18878/saturday-night-live-phillip Of course it's silly and maybe disrespectful of the seriousness of Indiana's situation, but he's even wearing a helmet of sorts!
Anyway I was thinking of you guys again today because I was trying to not eat meat and remembered how last Ash Wednesday I was with you at an Outback Steakhouse and we decided to cheat on the no-meat: you because you had such an impossible diet and me because I played the travel exemption card. Dan was good enough for all of us :)
Anyway, as I'm sure you noticed, this Ash Wednesday was also a heavy day for you and yours, so I have looked up next year's and declare that Wednesday, February 22, 2012 will be a normal, average, great day for the Slattery clan. No pending funerals, visitors from out of town, and definitely no scary hospital trips.
Alright sorry for the long personal blog comment but I couldn't resist... I'll get back to watching some good ND basketball now.

ps Even little things like not eating for 12+ hours in a row and super strong glue on someone's head (!on purpose!) are scary. You guys are brave and awesome and resilient and are going to pull through all of this
